Civilian Instructor Leigh Perkins

Leigh Perkins joined the air cadets at 2313 (Chalfonts) Sqn back in 1980 and attained the rank of Cadet Corporal. After leaving school Leigh began his career as a photographer and currently runs his own photography studio with his wife Zena.

Although Leigh has been a photographer for most of his working life he had a break of some six years when he managed a telecommunications testing lab for Nortel Networks. This gave him a good insight into telecomms and IT - skills which he now brings to the squadron together with his sporting interests. Leigh is a keen sportsman where his main interests lie in football and golf.

Leigh joined as a Civilian Instructor at Burghfield in February 2010 when is son also joined as a cadet and currently instructs the newer cadets in their first class training. As well as this Leigh is responsible for putting together the squadrons website.

Throughout his career Leigh has worn many hats but his favourite is most definitely the Sombrero
